One of the top attractions nearby is Roseberry Topping, a striking hill known for its iconic and distinctive peak. Hikers can enjoy the well-marked trails leading to the summit, where breathtaking views of the surrounding countryside await. The ascent is moderate and can typically be completed in a couple of hours, making it an excellent option for those looking to immerse themselves in nature while enjoying a bit of exercise.

We're lucky to have both Guisborough and Great Ayton less than 5 miles from Roseberry Retreat. 

the charming market town of Guisborough has an historic High Street, where quaint shops and cosy cafés offer a delightful place to enjoy a leisurely afternoon. Guisborough Priory, an impressive ruin dating back to the 12th century, is a must-see; it provides a fascinating glimpse into the area's rich history and makes for a picturesque picnic spot. In Guisborough (approx. 4 miles away):

There is an array of day time cafés, casual eateries and high end restaurants. 

Some great Cafés include Koselig - an independent artisan bakery specialising in Scandinavian style bakes. Sunday is a Vegan café with great pancakes and alternative drink options.  

There is a Wetherspoons on the high street, The Ironstone Miner, offering budget friendly meals and drinks. 

Greedy Ted's is an Artisan Neapolitan pizzeria on the high street, likewise cookfella's offers European style dining including tapas and fine wines. 


In Great Ayton (Approx. 3 miles away):

Great Ayton is a quaint village with the river Leven running through the middle of it. There is a fantastic range of independent shops you don't want to miss. 

Suggitt's is a real old school sweet shop that also sell delicious homemade ice cream. 

The Royal Oak has some great food choices and a good selection of real ales.
